Noble Environmental Technologies Corporation’s (NET), Universal Construction Panel is the third place recipient in the Cradle to Cradle Innovation Challenge featuring the next generation in green building materials.
SAN DIEGO November 19, 2013
The company competed against 144 applicants and 10 finalists. The judging was conducted by Cradle to Cradle certification experts, toxicologists from ToxServices, and building professionals from Make It Right. The winners received a cumulative $250,000 cash prize. The C2C challenge was to create a building product that is safe, healthy, affordable, effective and designed to be returned safely to nature or industry after use.
“It is exciting to see so many companies developing sustainable products that will change our world. Every nomination submitted is a winner because we represent the future of sustainability” said Robert Noble, NET Founder and CEO. “Cradle to Cradle has just begun to revolutionize the manner in which we create and collaborate with each other. We have a shared mission that will create a beautiful future for ourselves and future generations.”
The company’s Universal Construction Panel (UCP) is made from urban, farm and forest fibers, processed in a clean manufacturing facility and then pressed into composite panels. The panels are low-cost, strong, lightweight, compact and designed for easy assembly. Most importantly, the panels are 100% non-toxic, 100% recycled and recyclable and completely biobased, naturally.
To win the challenge, products had to emulate the criteria of the Cradle to Cradle Certified Product Standard: material health, material reutilization, renewable energy & carbon management, water stewardship, and social fairness.
ECOR® is an environmentally superior, lightweight structural panel product that is design flexible and performance oriented to engineered solutions.
