For Large Corporations & Organizations to Engage in the Circular Economy

There is no alternative to using our resources more intelligently, designing our products with a view to their reuse and recycling, and setting ambitious targets for waste reduction and recycling. Today, large enterprises across the globe are active drivers in providing input on how to design policies, products and services in a way that stimulates a competitive green economy in and protects the environment for future generations.

Integrating ECOR-based products and solutions enables these large organizations a turn-key opportunity to move towards a more sustainable circular economy, while creating win-win solutions internally, for customers and end-users. We work with our enterprise partners to develop a comprehensive action plan, with input from stakeholders in all parts of the organization's value chains.

Elements of an enterprise-grade ECOR solution are likely to feature: analyzing available fiber waste sources and types; determining key material applications to meet regular procurement needs, vendor interest and/or the market demand; opportunities to access circular economy enablers such as investment, innovation and product development; and developing a dedicated or accessing a syndicated ECOR manufacturing facility optimal for sourcing waste feedstock and providing ECOR-based materials and products.

One of the first and easiest steps that SMEs can take to engage in the circular economy, is to increase the sustainability of their supply chain by using products that are made from recycled material and recyclable at end of use. ECOR is a foundational material for enterprises to replace much of the wood, plywood, particleboard and foam used in their operations – whether for commercial packaging, wide format printing or custom furniture, fixtures and products – there are a variety of materials and products regularly bought and consumed by SMEs of all types that can be replaced, often at the same or lower cost, with ECOR-based alternatives. Our team can work with your supply chain and procurement managers to review your procurement needs and source needed solutions that meet budget and sustainability objectives

Our team is also able to provide purchasing managers complete solutions to meet their needs for a range of solutions, which includes office furniture, printed graphics and displays and packaging solution. Our team is able to work with and educate internal team members and vendors on ECOR best-use practices for creating ECOR-based alternatives, or provide complete solutions fabricated by our network of preferred vendors.

As a Cradle-to-Cradle certified building material, ECOR is ideal for use when building architectural interiors, especially for decorative surfaces, non-load baring walls, interior décor, storage and organization, cabinetry and millwork. As a non-toxic building material, it not only contributes to health and wellness of a building, but also contributes towards green building points for both LEED and BREEAM certification. Our team can work with your architects and designer to specify ECOR integration into your next building project, ranging from housing, to office space, retail and restaurants.

What if everything could be reused? No longer simply thrown away, but productively recaptured for a new use? In other words, what if waste as we know it disappeared?

ECOR enables enterprises to think big in this kind of approach, with steps that are quick and easy, and when integrated comprehensively – can provide substantial cost savings. The first two steps required to achieving this are recycling more of the waste stream, and up cycling it – rather than traditional downy cycling, wherein paper and cardboard are reprocessed into even lower values of the same end product – ECOR provides for both. ECOR materials offer the highest-value conversion product for recycled fiber materials, and provides enterprises more opportunities to convert a range of their waste – from textiles and synthetic fabrics, manufacturing scraps, woods and agricultural by-products, spent coffee grounds, processed beer hops and the millions of other sources

We offer a "small batch" service to enterprises and manufacturing organizations that have a desire to engage in the circular economy, by prototyping an ECOR-based solution on a small-batch preliminary basis. This process starts with converting a batch of waste stream, sourced from general operations or manufacturing, converting it into ECOR-panels and creating products.

These ECOR panels are sent to post-production, where our team or your vendors, convert the ECOR products best suited either short-term material needs or to test ECOR’s viability for your long-term and regular product development needs.

To date, this small batch service has resulted in a range of panels created from waste including: coffee grounds, spent beer hops, denim lint, synthetic leather used to make shoes, textiles, coconut husks, lavender, old books, tetrapak and even baseball bats.

These panels have then been used to make retail graphics, trade show displays, book shelves, office furniture, cubicles, decorative walls, hangers and coasters.

Syndicated ECOR facilities provide for both the waste conversion needs and ECOR-based material and product needs for a syndicated group of organizations within a region. These facilities are often done in coordination by regional governments, municipal waste management agencies and/or contracted waste management and recycling companies.

We will work together with those interested in participating in a syndicated facility to develop a project that meets their needs and a limited syndicate of regional partners whom are committed to both closing the loop and recycling their waste, as well as procuring manufactured ECOR materials or products.

Large enterprises will appreciate the benefits provided by an ECOR facility that can convert their waste and produce ECOR-based materials and products to meet their own needs. Often times, these facilities are best suited to those that regularly make or procure consumer products and can use ECOR within the products, for product packaging and/or retail marketing.

Organizations with a substantial global footprint can reasonable expect that one or more ECOR facility can provide the material they might require for use in developing commercial and residential real estate, office interiors, furniture and fixtures, marketing displays and graphics.
