ECOR Global received approval from the Bexar County Commission to build ECOR’s first US-Based manufacturing facility.
County staff recommended the commissioners grant a 10-year, 50% abatement of property taxes worth $2.2 million for ECOR’s facility. Commissioners gave the go-ahead on February 4th for staff to negotiate an agreement for the abatement.
The roughly 360,000-square-foot plant at Mission Rail Park in Elmendorf would cost about $200 million and employ about 150 people, according to documents submitted to Bexar County.
This approval marks a significant milestone in ECOR Global’s plans to expand production into the US to meet demand for sustainable bio-based panels.
